Zakat Disbursement Channels

The Zakat eight Disbursement Channels has been identified clearly by the holy quran (Alms are for poor and needy , and those employed to adminifter the (funds) .for those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled(to truth) for those in bondage and in debt, in the case of Auah and for the uayjarer At-Tauba(60) some of the islmic scholar opinion about the eight categories share is tobe divided equally i.e.,12.5% for each disbusement channel. But figh (jurisprudence) of the people of Sudan follow the superlativenees figh principle wich divides the eight categories percentage in accordance with the need. In fact the poverty percentage is too high in Sudan therefore Z.C. allocates gradually proportion for poorand needy share until it reached 64% of Z.C. total jibayah (collection) the total expenditure of Z.C. Masaarif for the years (2001-2006) is 118 billio dinars and the beneficiaries are about 15.000.000 families.

The most important programs implemented during the period (2001-2006)


1- The university student sponsoring program:-

The program began in 2001 with 6650 students and reached 35667 students by the end of the year 2006.

Z.C. coordinates with students support fund in identifying the poor student's and Z.C sponsors them in their stutes through saving bank by transferring monthly support of 5.000 dinars at an annual cost of 102 billion dinars.

2- Health issurance program:-

The program has started with about 5000 families, and reached 119.969 families in the year 2007 with total cost of 3.5 billion dinars

- 3- Orphan foster program:

The total number of orphans has been fostered by Z.C. in all Sudanese states 36.737 until 2007 with total cost of 903 billion dinars. The program started in the year 1988 with about 3000 orphans.

4- Zakat rite glorification program:-

It represents are of the pilot program of poverty reduction, where the ephasis is on two states per year the program in colludes developmental support from Z.C. headquarters in addition to the respected state share the developmental projects and needs is selected by the respected state Z.C. in accordance with the environment in the state.

The projects include (clean drinking water, education, health care, the year food, income generating means, housing and other proposed projects, and despite the fact that the projects cost do not exceed the amount of two billion dinars, however the proposed projects through this program have had a significant positive impact or poor and needy in different Sudanese states .the program has reached all Sudanese states except state of south darfur

due to security conditions .


5-Holy month of Ramadan program:

Z.C. has been implemented this program each year through partnership Sbetween Z.C. headquarters and states Z.C.S. the program includes, providing of food stutt, Ramadan tables and the university students late meal in their boarding houses .Z.C. during the holy month releases some of prison inmates. The program alls includes (the leader and his citizens) in this program the president of the Republic and ministers visit hidden poor houses and give them a considerable amount of money to bring joy and satisfaction to those families, those visits represent a continuous communication between top governmental officials and hidden poor families. The program also includes at the end of holy month provision of clothing for poor children to bring joy and to be ready to celebrate

Al-Fit Eid. The program cost (3) billion dinars annually. The program cost within six years (20) billion dinars and benefited (3) million households.


6- Z.C. programs started since last year:

(A) Z.C. all over Sudan celebrates annually the national orphan day, which be plonned to be in the month of prophet Muhammad (peace be upor him) birth, where the program is aiming at fostering orphans and widows who have lost their breadwinner. The program includes.

-Ownership of productive means for orphans families.

-Clothing.

- Health insurance.

- Honoring excellence orphans mothers.

-the total expenditure on this program for the years 2006-2007

(7) billion dinars, and benefited jamilies are 325.000.

(B) Agricultural support the agricultural activity represents the major economical sector in Sudan. Z.C. provides improved seeds, land tilling, water supply, traditional plows and cultivation.

Z.C. anually help cultivation of (5000) feddans. Also Z.C. has purchased more than 100 tractors with its accessories, in addition to 25.000 traditional plows especially the states of Darfur.


Z.C. agricultural program total cost was 502 billion dinars. And about 32 thousand families all over Sudan have benefited from the program .Z.C. also contributed to the rehabilitation of the (78) White Nile state agricultural project Moreover Z.C. contributed in establishment of duba dam in sennar state and Tulus dam in south darfur state in addition to Al-lnqaz canal in white Nile state .Z.C. also has provided loans without interst to poor farmers in river Nile state this contribution has resulted in rehabilitation if some agricultural project, besides farmers have repaid their loans, and have paid their Zakat . The Z.C. agricultural program also has contributed in the rehabilitation of Tokar delta through the removal of Mequite trees.


(C) Lives tock ownership:-

Z.C. has offered the number of (15) thousand families the total of (50) thousand of lives tock, with the average of (3) cows, or 5 to 10 sheep and goats to each family.


(E) The year food for poor families:-

Z.C. has been distributed about (2.5) million sacks of durah.

Each family has been distributed (200) thousand sacks of weat, and (50) thousand sacks of sorghum. The number of families hare been benefiting from this program have reached one million of families, the program has also included distribution of the year food for holy quran schools


(d) Public service projects:-

Z.C. has implemented some of service projects the serve large Numbers of poor and needy which represent their actual need.


Water projects :-

Z.C. realizes the importance and necessity of clean Drinking water for both humans and animal consumption, in addition to the poor suffering in access to clean drinking water .Z.C. contributes in digging wells, water tanks, digging of water .Z.C. contributes in digging wells, water tanks digging of water reservoirs, provision oh hand pumps for surface wells and implementation of some water networks .Z.c. has implemented more than (360) of wells,(650) of hand pumps ,(230) water reservoirs and implementation of (50) water network . the total cost of water service program during this peviod (2.8) billion dinars , and the total number of these projects (1294). Examples of these project, Duba dam in sennar state , tulus dam in south darfur state , umm samima water reservoir in south kurdufan , wells of kaas locality , water pumps for Al-jiniehna water service , abu udham water resrivor and Tokar town wells.


Health Projects:-

The medical treatment represents a major problem for poor and needy .Z.C. responds provisio of medical equipments, devices and laboratories .Z.C. also contributes in health issurance for poor families .Z.C. has established special department in Z.C. headquarters in Khartoum for medical treatment for poor patients from all Sudanese states who can not find the suitable treatment for their deseases such as cancer, kidney and heart desease .Z.C. contributes also in abroad medical consultation. Z.C. has purchased some of the medical equipments :

1- Cardio catheter with total cost of (1.5) million dollars.

2- genes screening divice, which has impact on Sudan medical field by identifying type of tumor, be for that it was required to send samples to Germany and patient has to wait more than two weeks until the arrival of the result to start treatment, which required patient and his family to wait in Khartoum and cost much more than the amounts this most people are unable afford to even non-poor people. But now in 20 minutes patient can get the result and starts his / her treatment.


The early detection of breast cancer. & As the first Mammography device in Sudan Z.C. in coordination with initiates organization has purchased an ambulance so as the device and its attachment to be as mobile clinic to assist women in detecting early cancer case in different Sudanese state.
