Al- Fashir:
Zakat Chamber (Z.C.) in North Darfur is working these days to implement the Green Campaign program , which aims to provide essential agricultural inputs to poor farmers in traditional agricultural sector , at a cost of (50) Million dinars , with support of (Z.C.) head quarters .
The program is sponsored by the State Governor Mr. Osman Muhammad Yousif kibber and supervision of MR. lsa Bhar Al-Deen Muhammad the Minister of social Affairs at State of Darfur , said Mr. Hafiz Abdul –Rahiem the state of Darfur (Z .C.) Trustee General .
He added in his statement to (SUNA) that the (Z.C) Green Campaign Which was launched two weeks age , at the State (14) Districts and administrative trative units is complementary and supportive of the Green Campaign of runs by the federal Ministry of Agriculture . The (Z.C) Green Campaign aims to assist poor farmers with the basic agricultural inputs as well as to increase production , increasing per capita income and to transcend the civil war impacts which the State experienced in recent years , indicating that the program has been prepared by specialists in Agricultural Ministery of Darfur state and scientists and academics of Al- Fashir Universty . the program is implemented by four Committees from (Z.C.) staff ,after the selection of targeted poor farmers through local Zakat Committees (L.Z.Cs) . the program includes provision of irrigation pumps to farmers of Districts of kutum , kabkabiya , Suraf Umra and Sarif bain Hussain . In addition the program will provide seeds for food as well as cash for Districts of Alliet , Tiwiesha , Um kadadah and Melliet . the program also provides traditional plows and vegetables seed and cultivating of (1500) Feddans to poor farmers of Districts of Al – Fashir , Dar Al – salaam and kalimando , the program also includes other Qualitative projects , besides the program includes the preparation for the next winter planting season in the State . said the (Z.C.)
