The Zakat Trustees Council of North Darfur State has held its second regular meeting at Z.C. building , which headed by Abdul-Rahman Ahmmad Musa chirman of North Darfur State legislative council .At the beginning of the meeting Dr.Ismail Hussein Hashim,
Minister of social Affairs and deputy governor reviewed the ordinance which regulates the relationship between Z.C. and Al-Rahma tower for orphans support of poor.
After a thorough discussion the meeting referred the ordinance to Z.C. legal counsel for drafting the final version. Nasr Al-Deen Bagoal Siraj the governor of Al- Fashir locality and Z.C. Directors of Darfur State, were it was approved by the meeting.
The meeting reviewed Z.C. performance report for the first quarter of this year which presented by Al- Itafiz Abdul-Rahiem Shamshum the Z.C. Trustee, who has pointed out that the total Zakat collection amounted to one million two hundred and nine thousand and ninety seven pounds and eigh piasters , with perforamance rate of (114%) and the total disbursement amounted to one hundred and eighty – seven thousand and one hundred and thirty – eight pourds (187.138) . He also pointed out that the implementation of Z.C. federal project , have made a significant difference to the community of the State. Especially in displaced segement . The federal program included the second phase of health insurance which covered (5000) of families. Inaddition to the distribution of in –Kind and cash support for Quranic schools, organizing of medical treatment camp for fistula patients in collaboration with Al-Fashir new hospital, where (90) cases has been treated , as well as supporting Sudanese certificate examination ceters and support of two programs in public services, besides allocation of subsidies for displaced camps . "The disbursement rate in most of Zakat channels during the first quarter of this year was 83.7 % for poor and needy , 71.9 for wayfarer 6.7% for debtors , 48.3% for sake of Allah , and 37.8% for Zakat propagation''. Said Z.C. Trustee. He reviewed the obstacles that are impeding Z.C. performance which includes lack of Z.C. staff and lack of transportation means. He announced that the Z.C. in cooperation with Makkah hospital and sight charity organization are prepararing for another free eye – camp during this month.
The representative of the chairman of Trustees council and a number of the council members have praised the outsatanding performance of Z.C., and calling for continuing the implementation of Z.C. programs in order to provide services to poor and needy, and promised to cooperate with Z.C. to solve the problems faced by Z.C. staff in order to facilitate their mission.
